Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education is the largest board in terms of the number of students of Asia. It runs by the state government of Uttar Pradesh. This board prepares the result of nearly 32, 00,000 students in October 2016 and 71,68,625 in 2018 (Expected). Last year (2017), the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education has around 1.25 lakh teacher and it took the examination (10th & 12th) around 11,000 centers across the state of Uttar Pradesh. The examination for the class 10th is called High School Examination and class 12th is Intermediate Examination. Most of the Secondary School in Uttar Pradesh is recognized by Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education.

This board was established in 1921 by the act of the united provinces Legislative Council at Allahabad. Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education has conducted its first examination in 1923 by The University of Allahabad.

2. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE):-

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination is a national level non-government (Private) English medium educational board in India. It conducts three examinations, ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) for class 10, ISC (Indian School Certificate) for class XII and CVE (Certificate of Vocational Education) for Vocational. This board does not accept the private candidates; the only accept the candidates who come through an English medium school which is affiliated to the CISCE. The certificate of CISCE examination is recognized by Cambridge University (United Kingdom). Most of the European University is dully accept ISC certificate.

In 1952, all India Certificate Examinations Conference was held under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Minister of Education. The main purpose was to consider the replacement of the Cambridge School Certificate by an All India Examination. In first October 1956 at the meeting of the Inter-State Board, a proposal was adopted for setting up an Indian Council to administer by Cambridge University. 3. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE): –

Central Board of Secondary Education is a national level educational board in India for private schools which follow only NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training). It is the most popular board of “top 5 educational boards in India“. It managed by Union Government of India. It is the largest exam conducting body in the world.

Central Board of Secondary Education took the final examination for class X and class XII in March, every year.  It conducts JEE (Main) examination for engineering and architecture courses in colleges across India and AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test), Teachers eligibility test and Class X optional proficiency test with NET (National Eligibility Test). On 10 November 2017 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cleared a proposal named NTA (National Testing Agency) which conduct various entrance examination in India.

Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education was set up in 1921 under the jurisdiction of Rajputana, Central India, and Gwalior. In 1929, the then government of India was built up a joint Board named “Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana” This was also included Ajmer, Merwara, Bhopal and Vidhya Pradesh. In 1952, It became the “Central Board of Secondary Education”

4.Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education (TNSB):-

Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education (TNSB)

Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was established in 1910 under the Department of Education by the Government of Tamil Nadu in India. This is also a famous educational board in India. This educational board offers three certificates to its students. At the end of class X, it offers SSLC Certificate (Secondary School Leaving Certificate). Other two is – OSLC (Oriental School Leaving Certificate) and HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) at end of class XII.

West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME)

West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME)

The West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education is the best secondary educational board in West Bengal. Madrasah is an Arabic word which means patsala. It is not only for Muslim students, no matter your religion, caste or gender. This board believed that religious and theology based educational system is not for a particular religion. By the way, the madrasah educational system tries to provide access to free education in West Bengal’s rural areas. It is one of the national and international level secondary board in India.

Once the British East India Company was founded the Calcutta Madrasah in 1780. The Center Madrasah Examination Board was converted to Madrasah Educational Board by Moazzamuddin committee in 1946. It was renamed as West Bengal Madrasah Education Board in 1950. Finally, in 1994, it was changed its name as West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (West Bengal Act, XXXIX of 1994).

There is two types of institution are recognized by WBBME in West Bengal namely: High Madrasah Education System and Senior Madrasah Education System. Muktab (Khareji Madrasah) is the other category of Madrasah also established in the state. Those Muktabs are run by the individual or run by community etc.

The High Madrasah Education System was introduced by the Government of West Bengal. One extra subject Islam Parichay is taught from another Madhyamika system syllabus. The Senior Madrasah Education System is a modern teaching-learning education system with Theology and Islamic Culture. Two types of Senior Madrasahs are running in the state namely: Alim Madrasah (from class 1 to class 10) and Fazil Madrasah (from class 1 to class 12). In a word, Alim means class 10 standards and Fazil means class 12 standards.

The Madrasah Service Commission maintains teaching and non-teaching staff recruitment.

Accounting to a survey on August 2010, there is a total of 609 madrasahs are recognized under WBBME. Total number of students is 4,47,017 ( Boys-1,82,784 and Girls- 2,64,233).
